ive been stuck on making really shitty music for the past how many weeks and i really want to finish something and its such an awful feeling to be this unproductive especially when two dj sets are lined up and i want to showcase some new stuff because i am getting tired of my usual range of remixes and i am SO very over with the whole 2010's pop revival movement, its been so done its really boring to me now, crystal castles have already done it, bloody beetroots already done it. its a wrap guys. i think complextro is coming back but ive listened to enough monstercat in my life to not care about it. i know its glitch hop but koan sound and haywyre are so underappreciated. i feel like such an unc to have this view on things but why are we regurgitating the same aesthetics and sonics with very little to no innovation. digicore basically speedran that entire process in 5 years, good work guys. and no more hedi slimane pieces. i like it. but i don't want to see it on anyone ever again. i don't care. enough references. enough homages. no more metalheart. no more cybersigilism. no more bayonetta glasses. no more of those youtube thumbnails thats like 8 circles in a 2x4 grid with comic sans. no more black background white text red yellow textbox thumbnails either. no more green screen holding mic video game background video essay. no more videos shorter than 1 minute but longer than 12 minutes. no more "play this while you sleep", i know what you are doing, and you are not slick. no more roguelikes with gambling elements. no more discourse about "performative-ness"- everybody is performative, get over yourselves. no more shaming media consumption as a hobby. no more kesha remixes, sorry, i already made the best one, its over, wrap it up. no more "get your bag i guess" when a creator promotes an obvious scam or grift (eg. btterhlp, gambling, rcketmney, hello fresh, some AI product). only if it was generational wealth id accept. no more "we shouldn't interfere with nature". my friend. we ARE part of nature. and we have helped and shaped the organisms around us since forever. we are the stewards of this planet. we humanize inanimate objects. i want to pet a polar bear. we HAVE to take care of the environment. no more asking celebs what they think about XYZ issue, that is not praxis or dialectics or whatever. sydney sweeney is likely maga but shes still going to get booked because her target audience thinks they aren't affected by politics (at least not yet). some things are not wroth spending your energy. you need a better hobby. no more ragebaiting. youre not a troll, youre an asshole and bad at jokes. double whammy. no more viral foods.
yes, i hate being a hater, but its my blog and i can write whatever i want. i was thinking of writing a new paragraph with things that i do enjoy about the current world but i can't be bothered.
anyways i will likely be a hypocrite and likely do a few of the things i listed above. im trying to say i feel incredibly uninspired by the current happenings. they have created a dystopia, but im never going stop trying to live in beauty.
